Over the years, we’ve listened to wounded, injured and seriously ill American service members and their families to learn what they need most – while some challenges are easy to guess, others are hidden, especially the challenges facing family caregivers and other family members. Because we listened, what started out as one emergency hotel stay is now an ever-expanding safety net of programs and services that helps fill the gaps. We fill needs these recuperating soldiers, sailors, and airmen have that aren't met adequately by the military, such as lodging and transportation for visiting family, family caregiver support activities that include networking opportunities, recreational outings, fitness classes and life-skills training. We help military families on base and off to relieve the stress and anxiety of rehabilitation, during their transition to civilian life and after they return to their home communities. If we don't have the resource, we find it.
