Ferguson Supports the Yellow Ribbon Fund

Kathi Wallis, YRF Executive Director, receives a check for $20,000 from Darcy Curran, Ferguson General Manager, Washington, D.C., and Tom Strup, Vice President and Regional Manager, Atlantic Region. |
A heavy downpour didn't dampen the spirit of those attending a barbecue
bash on May 16 before the Nationals-Braves game at RFK Stadium
sponsored by Ferguson, the country's largest plumbing supply company.
Ferguson hosted 55 injured service members from Walter Reed Army
Medical Center at both the party and the game. Ferguson President and
CEO John Stegeman commented that "As a company operating in Hampton
Roads, an area heavily populated by members of the military community
and their families, we support our friends and neighbors during their time of healing."
At the tailgate party, Darcy Curran, Ferguson General Manager,
Washington, D.C., and Tom Strup, Regional Manager and Vice President
for Ferguson's Atlantic region, presented a $20,000 check to the Yellow
Ribbon Fund. According to Mr. Curran, "We're proud to support the
important work being done by the Yellow Ribbon Fund. The entire
Washington Group is enthusiastic about giving back to our soldiers and
their families in whatever way possible. We look forward to continuing
this relationship with internships, mentor programs and social
activities for the veterans and their families as they rehabilitate at
Walter Reed."
Ferguson is working with the YRF to help place veterans in some of its
1,400 locations.
Leroy Thompson, a friend of YRF Chairman Jim Bugg, introduced the
Yellow Ribbon Fund to Ferguson CEO John Stegeman.
