Reliving Gettysburg

The battle of Gettysburg, fought from July 1st through July 3rd, 1863, marked a turning point in the Civil War in the North's favor. The Blue and Gray Education Society (BGES), in partnership with the Yellow Ribbon Fund, helped 18 injured service members and their families gain new insight into the battle on May 18th.

BGES's Executive Director Len Riedel and retired Brigadier General Parker Hills brought the famous battle to life again as the group visited McPherson Ridge, Little Round Top, Pickett's Charge, and The Copse of Trees at Gettysburg. Another highlight was a lunch served at the historic Dobbin House.
