When a service member is wounded, ill or injured and requires hospitalization or rehabilitation, the military provides comprehensive care and support directly to the service member.

However, many families are not located near Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and are faced with logistical and financial difficulties including transportation and housing.

This is where Yellow Ribbon Fund steps in and fills in the gaps of care with two core programs:

Yellow Ribbon Fund provides practical support to Post 9-11 active-duty and veteran service members by offering rental cars, hotel stays and fully-furnished apartments at no cost to military families while they are receiving medical treatment at Walter Reed and Fort Belvoir.

Yellow Ribbon Fund empowers caregivers by offering recreational and respite events, fitness and wellness activities, life skills training and educational classes, networking and peer-to-peer mentoring opportunities.
