The start of a new year offers an opportunity to reflect, reset, and move forward with intention. For military families and caregivers navigating recovery and transition, goal setting can be a powerful tool for restoring clarity and confidence during uncertain times.
This January, Yellow Ribbon Fund’s Keystone Program kicked off 2026 with its monthly theme: goal setting—setting goals that stick. Our national Keystone chapters led inspiring vision board workshops designed to help participants identify priorities and envision meaningful next steps.
These workshops went beyond creativity. Rooted in structured goal-setting practices, participants were guided to define short- and long-term goals, outline actionable steps, and recognize both challenges and sources of support. This process helps veterans, caregivers, and military families regain a sense of control and direction as they work toward personal and professional growth.
“At Yellow Ribbon Fund, we believe stability and growth begin with clarity,” said Tanya Lanas, Keystone Program Director. “Goal setting isn’t about perfection—it’s about giving veterans, caregivers, and military families the tools to move forward with purpose, confidence, and direction, even during uncertain seasons.”

Goal setting provides stability when life feels overwhelming. It allows individuals to center themselves, focus on what matters most, and move forward with intention rather than uncertainty. For caregivers—who often put their own aspirations on hold—creating space to articulate personal goals related to wellness, education, career development, or family life can be especially empowering.
The Keystone Program is built on the belief that stability is not only about meeting immediate needs, but also about equipping families with tools for long-term success. As we begin 2026, Yellow Ribbon Fund remains committed to supporting military families through community, connection, and practical resources—helping turn intention into action, one goal at a time.
